CAG’s Artist of the Month…Get to know more about the Lysander Piano Trio

The Lysander Piano Trio takes its name from the character in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A 2012 winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, the Trio’s members are violinist Itamar Zorman, cellist Michael Katz, and pianist Liza Stepanova.

The ensemble takes inspiration from their collective roots, Israeli and Russian, performing works that reflect their personal backgrounds. For example, a highlight of next season will be the world premiere of a work commissioned by CAG with support from the Adele and John Gray Endowment Fund. Written by the Israeli composer Gilad Cohen, it will be premiered on CAG’s Weill Hall concert series on March 14.

Catch the Trio now on its August tour with concerts at the Mostly Mozart Festival, Nantucket Musical Arts Society, and the Chautauqua Chamber Music Series!
