CAG’s Artist of the Month…get to know more about
the Lysander Piano Trio

The Lysander Piano Trio takes its name from the character in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A 2012 winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, the Trio’s members are violinist Itamar Zorman, cellist Michael Katz, and pianist Liza Stepanova.

The ensemble takes inspiration from their collective roots, Israeli and Russian, and will perform this month at the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. The program, Transplanted: Music by European Composers Displaced by WWII, features composers who fled 1930s Europe for destinations such as California, Moscow, and Tel Aviv. Together with world-renowned clarinetist Charles Neidich, the Trio will perform works by Ben-Haim, Bartók, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Hindemith.

The Trio follows up this performance with concerts in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and at the Melbourne Chamber Music Society in Florida.
