CAG’s Artist of the Month…get to know more about
the Verona Quartet

The Verona Quartet was a 2015 Winner of the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition and has been enjoying a busy 2016-17 season, with nearly fifty performances around the country. Following its successful Weill Recital Hall debut in February, the Quartet will complete its residency as Graduate String Quartet at The Juilliard School with a performance at Alice Tully Hall on Monday, May 8.

The Verona Quartet will perform elsewhere in New York and Pennsylvania this month too, including a performance of Franck’s Piano Quintet with pianist Daniel Hsu at Market Square Concerts in Harrisburg, PA on Wednesday, May 3; with violist Roger Tapping at Rockefeller University on Friday, May 5; at the Port Washington Library on Sunday, May 7; and at Millbrook Music Assembly on Sunday, May 28.

This summer will see the Quartet as busy as ever, appearing as ensemble-in-residence at the Chelsea Music Festival, giving teaching residencies as part of the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance in Nova Scotia, Canada and the Indiana University Summer String Academy, and performing at the Nantucket Musical Arts Society and the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival, the latter featuring a collaboration with Juilliard String Quartet violinist and CAG alum Joseph Lin.

all Debut on the CAG Presents series at Weill Recital Hall. Don’t miss his performance on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:30pm, featuring the music of Beethoven, Schubert and Mussorgsky. Daniel will be busy with recitals early in the month, including at the East Meadow Public Library on April 9 and Pennswood Village in Newtown, PA on April 11. You can also see Daniel perform Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the New Haven Symphony and conductor William Boughton on April 6.
