CAG’s Artist of the Month…Get to know more about PUBLIQuartet

The innovative PUBLIQuartet has been named MetLiveArts’ 2016-17 Quartet in Residence, which comes with seven concerts at the Met Museum this season, including a pop-up performance on September 9. PQ’s groundbreaking programs span the classical canon and also feature open-form improvisations that expand the techniques and aesthetic of the traditional string quartet. PQ has performed in a diverse range of venues, including Lincoln Center, SubCulture, Le Poisson Rouge and Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola in NYC, and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Their performance in this year’s Detroit Jazz Festival on September 4 will feature guest artists J.P. Norpoth (bass) and A. Spencer Barefield (guitar) and their MIND|THE|GAP programming initiative.
