Rite of Spring, Concert Artist Guild’s 2013 Gala at The Rubin Museum of Art on June 11, 2013, is a night of music, food, drinks and art. Join us as we honor GRAMMY winning guitarist Sharon Isbin and CAG Vice Chairman Norbert Weissberg, this year’s CAG Virtuoso Award recipients.

AMPHION STRING QUARTET ON THE ROAD TO WEILL APRIL 23RD

The Amphion String Quartet (2011 CAG Competition winners) makes its Weill Hall Debut at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, April 23 at 2 PM. The concert features works by Wolf, Schubert, Bruce Adolphe, Janáček & Mozart with special guest clarinetist David Shifrin.

Leading to the 23rd, the Quartet appears on the McGraw Hill Companies Young Artists Showcase on WQXR with Robert Sherman, 4/17; plays concerts at Claverrack Landing in Hudson New York, 4/18; a noontime concert, Rockefeller University, 4/19; Russell Library, Middletown CT, 4/20; and Coe Hall Mansion, Oyster Bay, NY on 4/21. LINDEN QUARTET ANNOUNCES NEW PARALLELS SERIES

The Linden String Quartet recently announced the creation of the Parallels Chamber Music Series in Cleveland, Ohio, where the ensemble is based. The Quartet serves as Artistic Director for the series.

Parallels begins with an opening gala, April 2, 7:30 PM at Reinberger Hall, Severance Hall — home of the Cleveland Orchestra. The opening concert features the LSQ with special guests Bill Preucil and Arthur Rowe who joins the LSQ for the Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet by Ernest Chausson.

CALMUS: US TOUR

Leipzig, Germany-based vocal quintet Calmus completes a US tour this month with concerts in Georgia, Washington, Iowa, Kansas, Minessota, Missouri and Virginia. Please see Calmus’ website for details.

Calmus ends its tour right here in New York City on April 21st with the group’s Lincoln Center Great Performers series debut at the Walter Reade Theater. The concert features works by Schütz, Purcell, Schumann and Britten as well as German folksongs. For information and tickets please click here.
