CAG is thrilled to partner with (le) poisson rouge to present two rising talents, guitarist Jiji and trumpeter and composer Brandon Ridenour.

Working together with the common goal of fostering young musicians, we will provide new artists with an opportunity to perform beyond the traditional recital hall setting and reach LPR’s diverse and enthusiastic audience. Please join us for what we hope is the first of many concerts co-presented by LPR and CAG!

Co-First Prize Winner, 2017 CAG Competition

Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall

Applauded by MusicWeb International for his “splendid playing…great skill and technical prowess,” St. Louis native Dominic Cheli‘s career is rapidly advancing. In addition to winning the CAG Competition in 2017, he was named the winner of the Music Academy of the West Concerto Competition and released his debut CD for the Naxos label, featuring the music of Muzio Clementi. Highlights of his 18-19 season include performances at the Mostly Mozart and Ravinia Festivals, in addition to his Weill Recital Hall debut with CAG.

Winner, 2017 CAG Competition

In memory of William Reid Pitts, Jr. M.D., beloved husband of Marguerite O. Pitts

Applauded by The Strad for her “fiery virtuosity” and “consummate performances,” violinist YooJin Jang is a winner of the 2017 CAG Competition, and is also First Prize winner of the 2016 Sendai International Music Competition in Japan. YooJin’s 18-19 season includes concerto debuts at New York’s Chautauqua Institution and in Japan with the Osaka Symphony Orchestra.

The program will include works by Schumann, Sibelius, and Corigliano.
