Words and Music

A Celebration of Songs commissioned by CAG

Kosciuszko Foundation, 15 East 65th Street

CAG presents a concert of 13 recently commissioned songs by American composers, set to the poetry of Lucy Miller Murray, founder of Market Square Concerts and CAG Board member. The one-hour concert features songs by Michael Brown, Jeremy Gill, Jake Heggie, Paul Moravec, and Richard Wilson.

Performers include CAG artists Sarah Wolfson, soprano; Mischa Bouvier, baritone; Yoonah Kim, clarinet; and David Shifrin, clarinet. They are joined by collaborative pianist Renate Rohlfing.

The concert is in honor of Richard Weinert, CAG President 2000-2018.

First Prize Winner, 2018 CAG Comeptition

Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall

Chinese pianist Yi-Nuo Wang was selected as first prize winner of the 2018 CAG Competition, which is just the latest in a series of impressive first-prize performances, along with the 2017 Wideman International Piano Competition in Louisiana.

Quartet Extravaganza!

Featuring the Aizuri and Argus Quartets and Kim Kashkashian, viola

CAG partners with Music for Food, a musician-led initiative for local hunger relief, for this concert, which will raise resources and awareness in the fight against hunger. Featuring Mozart’s Viola Quintet in E-flat Major, K. 614, Garth Knox’s Satellites, and Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings, Op. 20.

A co-presentation with Music For Food.

Suggested donation at the door is $30/$10 students and seniors. No ticket required.
