Donald Sinta Quartet Awarded Gold Medal at the 45th Annual Fischoff Chamber Music Competition

Following up on its First Prize victory at M-Prize (Senior Winds) in May 2017, the critically acclaimed Donald Sinta Quartet garnered the Gold Medal (Senior Winds) at the 2018 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, IN on Sunday, May 6.

These four virtuoso saxophonists—Dan Graser, Zach Stern, Joe Girard and Danny Hawthorne-Foss—have earned a reputation as a “…a tight-knit ensemble exploding with power…” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), and this is just the latest in a string of competition successes, including First Prizes from Concert Artists Guild (2013) and the North American Saxophone Alliance (2012).

Founded and based in Michigan, and named for its mentor, legendary University of Michigan Saxophone Professor Donald Sinta, the quartet’s busy tour schedule includes chamber music recitals and concerto performances, as well as educational residencies internationally.

Congratulations to the Donald Sinta Quartet!
