Sarah Wolfson Makes European Debut with Opera de Montpellier
Soprano Sarah Wolfson recently returned from a month in Montpellier, France. Her European debut included two performances at Opera de Montpellier: the world premiere of Nitschke’s Jetzt and the French premiere of Elliott Carter’s What Next? The composer passed away during Sarah’s time abroad. Sarah wrote on her relationship to the composer and his music in Sparks and Wiry Cries, an Ezine for the art song community.
Her performance was called “passionately sung and acted” by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and Opera Forum said she “easily performed the character of Rose, a parody of bel canto style.”
