Serenade

Winners of the 2021 CAG Victor Elmaleh Competition, flutist Adam Sadberry and the Balourdet Quartet perform a concert of beloved works both for flute and string quartet. Singing is humanity’s original key to musical expression, and this program celebrates the artistic meeting of the voices. From the operatic nature of Wolf’s Italian Serenade to the tender lyricism and warmth of the Mendelssohn; from the conversational exchange of The Jet Whistle to the soaring melodies of Amy Beach’s harmonies, the program highlights the tremendous vocal qualities of both the flute and the string quartet.
