Concert Artists Guild collaborates with Harlem Stage and Sugar Hill Salon for the first time as part of Harlem Stage’s Uptown Nights music series. For 40 years, Harlem Stage has been the performing arts center that bridges Harlem’s cultural legacy to contemporary artists of color and dares to provide the artistic freedom that gives birth to new ideas. Harlem-based Sugar Hill Salon is one of the first chamber music series and artistic collectives that centers on black and brown woodwind artistry in classical music. The three organizations come together to curate an evening of chamber music at the Gatehouse, featuring works by living composers of color, performed by CAG artists Adam W. Sadberry (flute) and Fei-Fei (piano) with Sugar Hill Salon artists Alexander Davis (bassoon) and David Valbuena (clarinet).
