Transcriptions of Scarlatti and John Williams are heard alongside selections from Piazzolla’s The History of Tango and his Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. The program also includes Ink Orchid Pavilion by Zhihui Li and Horse Racing by Haihuai Huang, two works that reflect the duo’s engagement with music of contemporary Chinese composers.
