Announce New Teaching Fellowship
Concert Artists Guild is proud to announce a new teaching fellowship in partnership with AlpenKammerMusik, an intergenerational summer chamber music festival in the Austrian Alps. This collaboration creates an opportunity for CAG’s roster artists to immerse themselves in a uniquely international environment of chamber music performance, teaching, and community.
The new fellowship offers CAG musicians not only the chance to share their artistry with music lovers of all levels and ages, but also to gain first-hand teaching experience and build meaningful relationships within a close-knit festival community, while experiencing the inner workings of a small, dedicated chamber music nonprofit.
“This fellowship offers our high-level roster of performers a truly unique experience,” said Tanya Bannister, President of Concert Artists Guild. “It’s an opportunity to play and coach music lovers of all levels and ages, while also gaining first-hand insight into how an international chamber music festival operates behind the scenes. We’re thrilled to see Nathan set the tone for this new initiative.”
The inaugural CAG Fellow, violinist Nathan Meltzer, will set the standard for a role that demands outstanding musicianship, consummate chamber music skill and knowledge, and an ability to connect with students from diverse ages and backgrounds.
Nathan will join a distinguished international faculty that has included professors from Eastman School of Music, Guildhall School, and the Royal Academy of Music; members of internationally recognized chamber ensembles; and Principal players of major orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra. With these faculty artists, he will present concerts to the Austrian public and perform alongside festival participants in ensembles studying works from the traditional repertoire and beyond. He will also gain valuable coaching and teaching experience, under the guidance of artist pedagogues, that has helped previous CAG artists land positions at top music schools.
“Nathan is exactly the kind of artist that we seek to promote at AlpenKammerMusik,” added Stephen Buck, Executive Director of AlpenKammerMusik. “He’s a beautiful player, a lovely human being, and will undoubtedly be adored by our participants.”
