Chicago-based ~Nois Quartet is a dynamic saxophone quartet acclaimed for its adventurous programming, virtuosic performances, and commitment to expanding the contemporary chamber music repertoire. Described by Musical America as a "prolific, charismatic young ensemble" and by the Chicago Tribune as "fiendishly good and fiendishly goofy," the quartet has premiered over 120 new works by many of today's leading composers, including Jessie Montgomery, Nico Muhly, Viet Cuong, Augusta Read Thomas, Shawn Okpebholo, and Jeff Scott.

Recent and upcoming highlights include appearances at LONG PLAY, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, and the University of Chicago Presents Series, as well as a 40-performance national tour and the ensemble's international debut in Hong Kong. Dedicated equally to performance and education, ~Nois has held residencies at the University of Chicago, Princeton University, Michigan State University, and the University of Colorado Boulder, while its Chicago-based Curiosity Series and Young Creators Fellowship champion emerging composers and cultivate new audiences. The quartet's growing discography includes releases on Bright Shiny Things, New Amsterdam Records, and Cedille Records, reflecting its ongoing commitment to collaborative creation and the music of living composers.
