Conductor and pianist Paul-Boris Kertsman is recognized for his incisive musical instincts and versatility across the operatic and symphonic repertoire. He currently serves as Head of Music and Kapellmeister at the Luzerner Theater, where recent productions include Die Zauberflöte, La Tragédie de Carmen, L'elisir d'amore, and operetta programs.
Recent and upcoming engagements include return appearances with the Musikkollegium Winterthur, where he conducts works by Brahms, Richard Strauss, and Max Reger, as well as debuts with the Symphonieorchester Vorarlberg and Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich. An Aspen Prize winner, Kertsman has served as Assistant Conductor at the Aspen Music Festival & School, collaborating with artists including Gil Shaham and Pekka Kuusisto in programs featuring music by Avner Dorman and Nico Muhly. Previously Assistant Conductor of the Musikkollegium Winterthur, he has also led productions of Idomeneo and Die Entführung aus dem Serail, made his public conducting debut with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra at Vienna's Musikverein, and collaborated with the WDR Rundfunkchor.
