Scottish-Indian classical guitarist Samrat Majumder was named the inaugural Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) 40th Anniversary Artist at the 2025 YCAT International Final Auditions at Wigmore Hall, becoming a joint YCAT–Concert Artists Guild artist. A prolific prize winner, he has captured First Prize at the 2025 Concours International de Guitare d'Antony (including the Audience Prize), the 2024 Deutscher Gitarrenpreis, the International Martínez Guitar Competition Iserlohn, and the LIGITA International Guitar Competition, and received Second Prize and the Prix Savarez at the 2024 Koblenz International Guitar Competition.

Recent highlights include performances throughout the United Kingdom, culminating in his Wigmore Hall recital debut, and his UK concerto debut with the de Havilland Orchestra performing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. Alongside his international performing career, Samrat is deeply committed to expanding opportunities for young classical guitarists in India through a mentorship program that connects emerging artists with leading European teachers and conservatories, while supporting festivals and educational initiatives that strengthen the country's classical guitar community.
